Z4

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

For lack of a proper nickname we’ve taken to calling Kirkland Zoka Z4. Tonight it appears we got here just in time to be offered actual cups. My new thing is to order one of the house drip coffees and go with sugar and no cream. At least this is my second time doing so. Tonight I’m having the Costa Rica. It is the Cup of Excellence winner. It has a nice somewhat fruity flavor.

I have bought some Columbia Villarica beans to take home. Maybe three years ago I got an amazing cup of excellence columbia that has set the bar pretty high. It is the coffee which I base all other coffees off. The one I purchased today only took 4th but I have high hopes for it.

Today we went to the Kenmore Camera Digital expo. We picked up a tripod. All this has me thinking about what my next camera purchase is. J.P. has me considering a Contax G2. I was thinking a Bessa r because it takes the M39 lenses but I bet I could find a g to m39 adapter. For now I will just fondle my FED3 and dream of pretty pictures.

Zoka is closing in 10 minutes. Goodnight.

Coffee and …

So I watched Coffee and Cigarettes finally. I had been thinking it was one I wanted to see. It turned out to be different than I expected. The first couple scenes were alright. I watched them all the way through. At some point I decided it was getting dull so I skipped ahead.

Jack Shows Meg his Tesla Coil. You’ve go to watch it. It was cute and Jack and Meg rock.

Coffee and Cigarettes on Hulu. It is rated R so you’ll have to log in. I’d recommend just starting at the beginning. If you don’t care for it jump ahead. It’s the seventh scene.

I also need to buy coffee beans. We tried to go to Zoka last week but it turned out they were having a company going away party for some girl. She wanted a Prom theme so Greenlake was packed with people in dresses and button shirts.

We ended up at the Denny’s on 148th. Turns out they have wifi now.

Autobahn | Kraftwerk

We are driving on the Autobahn

In front of us is a wide valley
The sun is shining with glittering rays

The driving strip is a grey track
White stripes, green edge

Now we’re switching the radio on
From the speaker it sounds

SJP and Buffy

Recently we got a Steve & Barry’s clothing store at the Everett Mall. When I heard they had Sarah Jessica Parker’s new clothing line Bitten I had to go. What drew me into the clothing line was price and style. The prices are fair but not super cheap and the look is stylish.

Tonight was J.P. bachelor party so I figured it was a good time to go shopping. I headed out to the mall around 7. The store is next to where the pet shop and shoe shine place was. So on the same end as the caramel corn stand.

When I walked in half of the first floor was taken up with Bitten clothing. I quickly found a couple shirts and headed off to search for what I had come for…a new hooded light-weight sweatshirt. There was a really cute blue one on the rack but only in medium. I opted for a different one in gray.

After trying them on I headed upstairs. About half of the upper floor is women’s clothing. I think most of it is the Steve & Barry brand. I didn’t find anything I needed there so I took a peek at the baby section. Before Amanda’s baby shower I might need to go back. There were a couple items I sort of liked but didn’t buy.

I headed back downstairs and purchased my items. The girls at the registers were talking about how the hoodie I got was cute and had just arrived.

Since I hadn’t had dinner yet I wandered to the food court. It was hard to get a feel for where I was with all the new shops. I haven’t spent much time there in years.

Thankfully the Ivar’s was still there. Clam chowder sounded good. I ended up getting a bread bowl. It was cute when the cashier said “bread bowl’s walking.”

Soup in hand I started back toward where I’d come in. As I passed a comic book shop I couldn’t help but look for the Buffy Season 8 comics. They had the first two on the shelf so I picked them up. They’re both second printings but I’m not sure that matters to me.

I came home and watched The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift while eating my soup. The soup portion was generous. They put the soup in a container and the bread bowl was separate. So got enough soup to fill it twice.

Once the movie ended I opened the comics. It’s to be continued obviously but it looks like Joss is finally going to write his Buffy and Xander love story. I heard his original idea for the TV series was that the two of them would be love interests. That didn’t happen but all the former loves in Buffy’s life are in LA so it’s a good time for the two of them to have feelings for each other.

I now need to get the third comic book. It should be out now or soon. For those of you who are interested the following characters have appeared; Buffy, Xander, Dawn, Amy, Willow, Giles, and Jonathan.
