Walk Through / Fridge

Wednesday we had our walk through.  At 13:30 we met with a fellow who walked us through our place.  The purpose was to make sure everything worked and to see what things needed to be fixed.  The biggest thing was an outlet on the island kitchen that wasn’t hooked up.  The flooring people had taken out the island and didn’t put the wires back.
The electrician was going to fix that.  The second biggest thing was that the closet doors in the second bedroom were hitting the molding because something was mounted wrong.  Also there was a plastic sticky hook that hadn’t been removed from the door.
The rest of the things we found were mostly cosmetic.  Things that hadn’t been cleaned yet or were mounted crooked.  The guy made a big list and it will all be done.
The other thing they’re working on is making the shower work.  A pipe wasn’t installed.  It had been taken off and not put back.  Thankfully they caught that before turning on the water.  We would have had water everywhere.  So currently they’re patching a hole in the ceiling where they accessed the pipe.
I love the carpet.  It looks and feels really nice.  The tile around the fireplace looks really good.  The color is wonderful.  I’m pleased with the kitchen and bathroom flooring too.

The best part of the day was getting in and out of Jack Roberts Appliance in under 10 minutes with a refrigerator receipt in hand.  We walked in, told the guy the dimensions of the space and he showed us a Fridgedair.  As he was looking up how long it would take to get a left hinged version he and J.P. got to talking.  J.P. told him which one we really wanted.  Turns out he had a left hinged one on order for a guy who didn’t need it for 6 months.  We said yes when he offered it to us and minutes later we were out the door.
Closing date is Monday.  Fridge arrives on Tuesday.  We might sign final loan papers today.  Life is good.
