Last week was supposed to start off well.  Our closing date was Monday the 23rd, but that didn’t happen.  On Tuesday night we signed the papers.  We met at the title company with an after hours signing guy.  The closing date on the papers was Wednesday the 25th.

On Wednesday I show up at J.P.’s work and he informs me that the seller forgot to sign one of the papers.  So it was sent back to them.

On Thursday J.P. calls to see if we’re closing.  All signs indicate yes.  I get a call from the people at the townhouse.  They tell me they think we’re closing that day and that the shower work will be done on Saturday not Friday.  They do not tell me anything else.

After work on Thursday I head to J.P.’s work.  We then drive over to see if we can get our keys.  When we get there Anne is expecting us.  We sign one last paper and she hands us our keys and garage door openers.

 

That night Ben, Sam and Jeremy came by to see the place.

Friday night we moved a few items into the house.

 

Saturday we got to the house early to wait for the shower guy.  He arrived around 10am.  Ben and Barney dropped off the couch and a coffee table.  It’s kinda strange looking but J.P. has a plan for it.

After that we went to Ikea.  We bought a bed, a lamp, rugs, and more.  We were going to buy bookcases but Aaron was busy so we didn’t have a truck.  After about 3.5 hours of shopping and sandwiches we headed back to the car.

 

Hopefully we’ll get the bed set up and buy a mattress soon.  Then we can actually move in.
